Why writers write. It's not for our egos (I think). Nadine Wessels is an independent writer, self-employed at Resigner Luth media which she controls. Happy workaholic, music lover. In love with my dog . A happy Goth, a stylist, content writer and promoter. Building a following on Twitter as Ultraviolet.ink1 @Dean#### on YouTube and facebook is well, Facebook?

Delicate Yarn

According to the latest research on Google and Science.org the tensile strength of spider silk is 500 times stronger than steel. Imagine the possibilities! What if we build a stairway to another planet? And what gear will we need?
Not to mention the desperately sought “Stairway to Heaven”? I think we have built that one, but as several people will tell you: “Those steps are formed by misconception and ill-intention.” Just ask the fiction authors of my generation. They state it as fact. Me – I just rinse and repeat. Especially when the label says this:
I am a luxury knitwear item.
Treat me with care. I was made with love.
I laughed when I read it! Yet, it shall be treated kindly.
(my) Delicate yarn
Question: Why do writers write? In my opinion…
We love it. We expose our innermost secrets to the world. Hoping to be adored and often scorned. Still, we cannot stop. We have these thoughts that fight to be voiced – on paper, o camera, on film, and now online. [Believe me, you’d rather be able to put the book down than deal with our eccentricities daily].
We are curious. We interact. We communicate. (Also, we dress funny. Be warned, you will see us coming. One tired person with backpack, camera, extra notepads, several pens and scrolls of maps? That would be my tribe!)
We write because we need to. There is a story in our minds – and no story is ever too small. The story is the yarn, we are the spider in the middle. We create characters, who in turn develop their own personalities and origin stories.
Keep them in line at your own peril. The writer = the spider, needs to feel the slightest tremble on the web before it falls apart. We feel the vibrations, the connections, the torn and the restored.
We live in our characters pockets, as much as they live in ours. As they grow stronger, we build larger. Maintenance is key to regain clarity.
We argue, we contemplate, we regretfully kill. (Hey, there’s always a prequel, so we never truly say goodbye.)
“I am who I am. Your approval is not needed” ~ unknown.
If I choose to write this, I can transform myself. Not loving my style – create a “femme fatale”. Feeling silly? Introduce a voodoo-drag queen. Feeling confident? Sure, welcome the “Informer and arm him/her to the teeth.” Feel alone – create an army. And reign.
We live for this! We love it. We are strong. We are a tad disturbed, in a clever way. Let the military police lieutenant deal with the stress.
My whole life I’ve been living with them. Actively engaging, training, and teaching myself their skills. Which are too many to keep my sanity and my health.
Instead like my spider friends, I produce my own protein, which may not in itself be stronger than steel however, the tensile strength is beyond compare and it still catches the bugs. Other curious creatures who find themselves trapped. Do not worry – I am not a hunter of innocents or innocence. I follow the `trap, photograph, then release’ guide to living.
I am Subhuman. I wear my heart on my sleeve. I do not condone wickedness unless the story demands it. Twenty-five percent journalist. Twenty-five percent copywriter. 100% mutable.
Still invisible and as such invincible. How long will this situation last? Not sure, but for all my bravado; the response to rude people remains the same 3 sentences:
1. “No comment!”
2. “I choose to believe you DID NOT JUST SAY THAT!”
3. Or my personal favourite: “I’m leaving now.”
Yes, people are peculiar. So, if you don’t know me, do not expect me to inform you. I might inspire but I’m not a genie. Just genius 😉
This article has already revealed much more than it should have. Still, you do not know me.
Signing off with love. Go live abundantly!
